Mask Your Way to Healthier Skin

Once upon a time, our skin only ever got treated to a face mask on a visit to the local spa or skin centre. Now, however, we’re able to re-create what we experienced in the treatment room in our very own bathrooms.

The Quick Fix

Masks really make the difference when it comes to taking your skin to the next level, and quickly! From mattifying, deep cleaning, clearing, calming, hydrating and boosting skin radiance, there’s a mask available for every skin woe and need.

Using a mask regularly will help you to keep on top of skin conditions such as breakouts, premature ageing or dehydration. What’s more they’re an easy add in to your current routine because they don’t need to be used every day, making them ideal if you’re time starved OR short on time.

Bumping Up Your Skincare Routine

Everyone’s skincare routine can be supercharged by adding a weekly mask, or even multiple masks. As quick fixes, masks complement targeted treatments and serums, whilst stepping up the results you’re achieving at home. Say hello to healthier, clearer and glowing skin in an instant!

Depending on the skin and type of mask, they can be used day or night, just a couple of times a week, and left on the skin for generally 7 – 10 minutes. Pop on a mask when you’re cleaning the house, during your favourite TV show and remove during the ad break, or even in the shower when you’re washing your hair. Masks that are focused on nourishing the skin may even be left on overnight as an intensive treatment. For best results, apply after exfoliating for deeper absorption.

The Multi-Masking Movement

Often at times we experience several skin concerns, all showing up at once. Using different masks in one treatment is a strategic way to treat multiple skin concerns in minutes. For example, you could patchwork a hydrating mask with a clay based mask to treat both dehydration and congestion at the same time.

Here’s what Dermalogica has to offer in the way of masks; either use alone or multi-mask for a bespoke, tailor made approach.

For oily skin, a clay based mask is needed to absorb excess oil. Try Dermalogica’s Charcoal Rescue Masque. This fast acting, all in one treatment mask features Activated Charcoal which draws out excess sebum, toxins and other impurities, along with purifying Bentonite and Kaolin clays.

It also teams up as an exfoliant to reveal smoother, brighter and clearer skin. Pro Tip: Use as a T-Zone mask to eliminate oil and reduce the appearance of pores.

We’re all prone to dehydration, especially on the forehead, cheeks and around the eyes. Dermalogica’s Skin Hydrating Masque is your answer to quenching thirsty skin. This ultra-cooling gel mask combines skin restoring Tomato Seed lipids with moisture boosting cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid, which is five times more potent than regular Hyaluronic Acid. Pro Tip: Smooth around the eyes and over the lips for a hydrating eye and lip treatment.

Vitamins are a must for skins that are dull, hyperpigmented or experiencing premature skin ageing. This is a common concern on the chest, cheeks and forehead area. Dermalogica’s creamy MultiVitamin Power Recovery Masque features Vitamin A, C and E, along with key amino acids to recover the skin’s health and vitality, revealing a brighter and more radiant skin. Pro Tip: Apply on the backs of hands to target age spots.

To banish those pesky breakouts, opt for a medicated clay based mask such as Dermalogica’s Sebum Clearing Masque. This soft, cooling clay mask features a concoction of antibacterial and anti-inflammatory ingredients with pore clearing and skin refining, Salicylic Acid. Pro Tip: Use as a stop treatment mask to help target and clear breakouts.

Masks provide a shortcut to better looking skin, and with multi-masking you can remedy many concerns at once! If you’re not already, it’s time to get creative and join the face making movement.
