To open the pencil, remove the cap and twist the barrel, being careful not to overextend to prevent breakage. For storage, twist the barrel down until you hear a click and then replace the cap. To shade, apply color directly to the eyelid and blend with your fingers, layering for more intensity. For highlighting, apply color to the eyelid, inner corner, and/or brow bone, blending with your fingers or using an eye shadow brush for precision. To line and define, trace along the upper or lower lash line, smudge for a smokey effect, or use the built-in sharpener to achieve a precise cone shape.
